Chrony of Snake Bite loads

Well, here it is and it weren't easy. As you might guess, the smoke-fire-brimstone from the black powder gets to the photo sensor of the Chrony about the time the bullet crosses the stop sensor. Results in an erroneous, if any, reading. Only practical way I found to accommodate this condition is to use Saran Wrap to block the dregs of black powder, yet allow the bullet to pass. Works just great! In the picture, you can see the haze on the first sky shield that is caused by the Saran.

Chrony results 7/26/06, 10 feet from muzzle '73. Cartridge using 160 grain Snake Bite bullet over 1.1 CC of LIDU and a Win small pistol primer. Pearl Lube and a BHN of 8.5 cast from 1/2 wheel weight and 1/2 pure lead. CAS max velocity for match rifle is 1400 fps. All reading below are in fps.

Round 1 - 971, Round 2 - 883, Round 3 - 926, Round 4 - 928, Round 5 - 956
Round 6 - 940, Round 7 - 933, Round 8 - 924 : Average 932, SD 25.5

Again, just my results intended for information only.
